Delrin® Renewable Attributed (RA) base polymer is produced from 100% bio-feedstock from waste according to ISCC Plus (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) mass balance certification. With a world-class environmental impact profile and a low carbon footprint, Delrin® Renewable Attributed offers excellent durability and reliability for less waste in part replacement. It is produced from 100% certified renewable electricity, steam sourced via municipal waste energy recovery and offers the same quality, performance, processing and sensory experience as Delrin®, which makes it easy for customers to adopt as they work toward their own sustainability goals. Leading companies across the globe specify Delrin® acetal homopolymer from DuPont for high-load mechanical applications such as gears, safety restraints, conveyor belts, healthcare delivery devices and electronic consumer products. Delrin® combines unique low-friction and high-wear resistance with the high strength and stiffness such applications require.
In our Dordrecht Works production facility in the Netherlands, Delrin® RA is produced making it the first POM acetal polymer to achieve certification from ISCC.
Our Washington Works production facility was awarded the prestigious Responsible Care™ Energy Efficiency award 2020 from the American Chemistry Council. The DuPont™ Delrin® manufacturing unit was one of the recipients of the “Exceptional Merit” award for optimizing their production, yielding improvements in energy efficiency, which corresponds to an annualized reduction of 8,200 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e). This is the equivalent to over 10,000 acres (40 km2) of forest sequestering CO2 for one year.
